2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you use our website at lowcostwebsite.co.uk or engage us to build, host, or maintain a website on your behalf. By submitting a brief or paying for our services, you agree to these terms.
3. Our services
We provide:
- Website design and build based on the brief you submit.
- Website hosting on our infrastructure.
- Domain name registration or transfer assistance (the domain is always owned by you).
- Professional email setup via a third-party provider such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Ongoing support and minor content updates as part of the monthly plan.
- Optional add-ons such as SEO, bookings, e-commerce, and branding.
4. The brief and approval process
- You complete our online brief form with details about your business and website requirements.
- We review your brief and confirm the monthly price, what is included, and the initial term.
- Work begins once you confirm acceptance of the proposal in writing (email is fine).
- We will share a first draft for your review. You may request reasonable revisions.
- The website goes live once you approve the final version.
5. Pricing and payment
- We will confirm your monthly price before any work begins.
- Payment is due monthly in advance by the method we agree (typically direct debit or bank transfer).
- Third-party costs such as domain registration fees and email provider licences are charged separately and explained clearly before you commit.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days written notice. You may cancel if you do not accept a price change.
6. Contract term and cancellation
- Standard websites: The initial term is 3 months from the date of the first payment. After the initial term, the plan continues on a 1-month rolling basis.
- Complex or custom builds: The initial term and pricing will be agreed in writing before work starts and may differ from the standard terms.
- Either party may cancel a rolling plan by giving 30 days written notice (email to hello@lowcostwebsite.co.uk is sufficient).
- If you cancel during the initial term, the remaining months of that term are still payable.
- On cancellation, we will provide your website files and assist with transferring your domain if requested. We will not hold your domain hostage.
7. Domain ownership
You always own your domain name. We register it in your name or help you transfer an existing domain. If we part ways, the domain stays with you and we will assist with the transfer at no extra cost.
8. Your content and responsibilities
- You are responsible for providing accurate business information, text, images, and any other content for your website.
- You must have the right to use any content you provide (including images, logos, and text).
- You must not provide content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes any third party's rights.
- We may decline to publish content that we reasonably believe is illegal or harmful.
9. What we own
- The website design, code, and templates we create remain our intellectual property unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- You are granted a licence to use the website design for as long as you are an active paying customer.
- On cancellation, we will provide an export of your website files so you can continue using them elsewhere.
- Any content you provide (text, images, logos) remains yours.
10. AI-assisted build
We use artificial intelligence tools to assist with the initial layout and content drafting of websites. All AI-generated output is reviewed and edited by a human before publication. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is entirely original, and you should review the final content for accuracy before we go live.
11. Hosting and uptime
- We host your website on reliable third-party infrastructure (currently Cloudflare).
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Occasional maintenance or outages may occur.
- We are not liable for losses caused by hosting downtime beyond our reasonable control.
12. Limitation of liability
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of our services after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
